(oil, acrylic or watercolor on appropriated paintings or images)
In this series, I populate appropriated thrift-store paintings or images from old calendars with groups of busy men. These men are carrying out activities in costumes that are picturesquely old-fashioned, reminiscent of childhood-books illustrations of tiny people. Yet their activities are disturbing, as in a hunting scene which also depicts the dead or dying animals that are the targets. In another scene, men climb a mountain in out-dated gear that would not meet our high-tech standards.
